The Scott Manor House welcomes back the Mayflower Doll Club with “Dolls in Books,” a display of dolls depicting characters from popular children’s books. Visitors will see well-known icons such as Ann of Green Gables, Cinderella, Shirley Temple, and many more! Members of the club came together over 30 years ago to share their passion for collecting dolls of different genres and brands. Members say they enjoy playing a role in the preservation of cultural history and celebrating memorabilia from a simpler time. For many, they have been collecting dolls since they were young children, turning the hobby into a lifelong endeavor.
Scott Manor has hosted the Mayflower Doll Club for over 10 years and is pleased to announce they will be returning from July 29th to August 3rd. Visitors will have the opportunity to browse the show, as well as learn how dolls are made. Sheila Mayfolk, spokeswoman for the Mayflower Doll Club, says that over 20 members of club will be participating in the show.
Scott Manor House is open daily for guided tours from 10-4 pm, and 12-8 pm on Wednesdays. Our Tearoom is open 2-4 pm Monday through Saturday, cash only.
