Handweaving is a time-old tradition that the Atlantic Spinners and Handweavers have been honoring since 1970. The group will be presenting their hard work at Scott Manor House July 15th to 19th from 1 – 4 pm.

The guild has been active since 1970 and provides the opportunity for weavers, spinners and dyers living in the Halifax area and beyond, to meet in a social atmosphere, to exchange information, learn new techniques and methods and share their interests. They will be demonstrating weaving on a floor loom, on table looms, and inkle looms as well as spinning on spinning wheels. They will also have items for sale and display. Meet and chat with members Daphne Trenaman, Fran Nowakowski, Judi Kim, Marilyn Gazeley, Heather Thorne and Wendy Murray.

Scott Manor House is a heritage house that serves as a community pillar by welcoming local artists, artisans, and dance groups such as Playford English Country Dancers, who will be performing July 14th at 2 pm. The musical group Sixty Plus will be performing July 17th at 6 pm. All are welcome to enjoy these events and the history the house has to offer!
